Comparative pathology in pharmaceutical and device development

Comparative pathology considers animal disease processes in comparison with those of man. The use of laboratory animal models in FDA preclinical toxicology testing is one aspect of accomplishing this task in a formal GLP setting

Flagship was founded by two comparative pathologists. In many of our projects we actively engage a wide number of MD anatomic pathologists. Our collaborations in quantitative dermatopathology or CLIA IHC clinical trials testing are two examples, but our network of consulting medical pathologists continues to grow.

The comparative pathology approach is highly useful when looking at discovery models or translational medicine, when conclusions on human efficacy must be made on animal models. We strive to expand the dialog between veterinary and MD anatomic pathologists.
